What sort of Mickey Mouse @#^! is this? Disney + Marvel – It’s not so bad.

What sort of Mickey Mouse @#^! is this? Disney + Marvel – It’s not so bad.

It could be ugly though.

The flaws of Disney & the flaws of Marvel are such that separate they are tolerable, but imagine if those flaws are amplified by the acquisition. The lack of creative diversity, the slowing down of their innovative efforts, the predatory behaviors of their marketing & distribution divisions and the overall drop off of the quality of their products could do quite a bit of damage to both company’s reputations and ultimately hinder their genuine efforts to improve their products. This will hurt the indie crowd even more now that Marvel has Disney to back it up and push the little guy aside, then

Of course this could also into a quagmire of idiocy when efforts to please everyone invite tragedies that rival anything showing on SyFy on a Saturday: Supervillain High School Musical should not even be entertained, Dazzler should not be the mutant Hannah Montana, I don’t want to see The Mutants of Graymalken Lane. I know it more than likely won’t happen but it could happen.

We will survive this… I hope.

Once we get over the initial shock of our childhood eating itself alive we may like what’s left. I know, I’m saying I might like Disney again, but it’s Marvel, they made me the geek I am;  it’d be hard to let them go just because they’re shacking up with Minnie. Besides, who doesn’t want to see Goofy as Bruce Banner…
